Dali dolls up Vogue

Salvador Dal was renowned as a painter of the surreal and a grower of dangerous mustaches  But he also designed four covers for Vogue magazine. The issues came out in 1938, 1944, 1946 (the Christmas issue), and 1971. They look how you'd expect them to look I suppose. If you were to expect that Dali was doing magazine covers. Pretty amazing.

Luda, will you be my dad?

Radio station Power 106 in LA has been inviting rappers to rap the children's book LLama Llama Red Pajama. I watched them all so you don't have to.

As old guys go, I'm on board with a lot of the rap that's bubbling these days (aka mumble/soundcloud rap, aka kids with red dreads and "Lil" in their name). But when it comes to Llama Llama, none of them kids can hold a candle to Ludacris who crushes it.

If you're looking for a little more autotuned R&B flair,  Kid Ink's version is worth checking out too.

Oh... Canada

Land of bears and mooses and pikes and rational public policy.

I made it up to northern Ontario this past week. A few hours of crisp sunlight, followed by days of stabbingly icy rain. Couldn't have been any happier.

Came home to sun and temps pushing 90 degrees. Couldn't be any happier.

Quaff like an Egyptian!

Travis Rupp is the special projects brewmaster for Avery Brewing Company in Boulder. He'll spend months researching an ancient culture to determine how they went about making beer. Then he'll replicate their process and product as closely as possible. He's created/re-created everything from Viking beer to Egyptian beer. Beer! Yay beer!
